PLAID FRIDAY (weekend) and SHOP SMALL (in a big way) SATURDAY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PLAID FRIDAY  your LOCAL alternative to Black Friday (big box ) shopping.  The intent is to weave a strong community of individual businesses that celebrate diversity and creativity of independent businesses. SHOP SMALL SATURDAY launched by American Express to support local businesses that make our communities strong inspiring to bring more holiday shopping to small business. 10% off all purchases.

"Making Gift Cards"

Free hands on event.  Stop in and create your own gift cards from left over materials. We will provide papers, scissors, glue, yarns, pens, glitter, and other whatnots!

Saturday 11/25  2-5pm  Shop Small Saturday

 "Design & Print your own Holiday Cards" 

Learn the basics of linoleum block carving with Joseph Kerr and leave with your own block! $60 Class includes 1 linoleum block. We will provide practice stock paper, inks, carving tools. Pay at class.

"Make Plaid Stockings"

 Come and make a plaid stocking for your holidays!  Basic sewing recommended, but not a must...we can help with that. $60 Class includes basic sewing instruction, plaid fabrics, stocking pattern, threads, yarns, trims and buttons for embellishment.  Pay at class.

Round Braiding w Brass + Blade

Round Braiding with Brittany @brass_and_blade 6-8pm at Kosa 386 19th st. Wine + Tea will be served Sign up link in @brass_and_blade bio. The round braid has been used for centuries on both land (by horsemen) and sea (by sailors) to make extra strong and visually appealing cordage. This will be a small, relaxed, fun class for learning the basic technique of the round braid using high quality, naturally tanned leather from the Brass + Blade workshop.
By the end of the class you will have made your own beautiful leather key lanyard complete with solid brass hardware. Absolutely no experience necessary, although it will be easier for those who have some experience braiding or tying knots. The price ($40) of this class covers all the materials and instruction and will be held in the gorgeous Kosa Arts space in Uptown Oakland, near the 19th st. BART station.
